Following a four-fault finish from Gilbertson, Kemper would overtake the lead in a speedy 36.36 seconds. Lambre would replicate Vanderveen’s clear round, but would fall short of her time of 38.07 seconds. Returning in reverse order, Vanderveen and veteran mount Bull Run’s Faustino de Tili set the time to beat in a clear 37.05 seconds. The shortened eight-fence jump-off track asked new questions of the riders, testing their speed and agility through the corners of the expansive Turtle Creek Casino & Hotel International Ring.
